the Process has a poll!
I'm planing on offering a draw for email subscribers and I wanted to find out what readers would like to see most as the prize. That's where this poll comes in. Head on over there now and vote for what you would like to see offered as a giveaway. There's unused art, original color sketches, cardboard constructions, T-shirts and books all available for your vote in what you would like to win! Once I've gotten enough votes, I'll announce the winning prize and soon thereafter I'll start the drawing. Any email subscriber will be automatically entered to win. Isn't this exciting! Okay, git on over there and vote!
While you're there, you can also see some of the new design tweaks I've applied to the Process blog. There's a new banner highlighting the current page, the addition of sticky posts and announcements and subtle post header coloring. I can barely contain myself!
Fablewood in Stores This Week!
This week the much anticipated anthology of fantasy comics, Fablewood, hits store shelves! The book is edited by William Ward and features work by luminaries, Ryan Ottley, JP Ahonen, Daniel Lafrance and many, many more. In it you'll also find my out of print minicomic, Mandala! The reviews are already hitting the web and the word is that Fablewood is not to be missed. Ambush Bug at Ain't it Cool News had this to say about the book:
FABLEWOOD is a feast for the eyes, the heart, and the mind. This fantasy anthology is done by a handful of talented artists and writers, all fully capable of telling the type of story that stretches the imagination. I found this book to be a real showcase of talent. I’ll go over the entire book briefly, but my observations don’t do this book justice
In his review of Mandala, Ambush Bug wrote this:
Due to the stylized font, I may misspell the writer/artist behind the wonderful reading experiment that is “Mandala”, but Joe Thfurhart’s story is one of the book’s highlights both in its mandala-shaped storytelling style and the cool mix of cavemen and giant robots.
Don't sweat it! The name mistake is a common one. It's the handle that I use on the Erotic Nights of the Norse Gods Bulletin Boards most weekends. Regardless, the compliments are greatly appreciated. Congratulations are in order for all involved and many thanks to editor, William Ward, for assembly such a talented roster of writers and artists.
Now what are you all waiting for!? Go out there and get yourself a copy! I promise you won't be disappointed.
the Process hits 100,000
As February 1st rolled over, the Process reached an important landmark. Page loads to the site reached 100,000! For other sites, this may not seem like much but for the little webcomic that could, it's a pretty big deal and I am very happy with it. When I started this project, I never dreamt that it would take off like it has. It's still not a juggernaut but all things have to start somewhere and so far this has been a wonderful beginning. So my thanks go out to all of you out there who have visited this site regularly or just once. It's your support and readership that helps power this engine onward.
Recently I have been posting a lot of stuff on the blog. It's been a busy week with the Threadless submission and Webcomicgeek's nomination. So I am condensing another news item into this post. John Parkin over at Blog@Newsarama.com has been a big supporter of this site and today he posted this little number to help generate more support for Roboto Mori on Threadless. He writes,
Joe Infurnari, the creative genius behind the webcomic The Process and the special guest artist of Wasteland #14, also designs T-shirts … his latest design, pictured above, is currently up for voting on Threadless.com, which prints shirts based on user interest (Web 2.0 at work!) If you think it’s a cool design, head over there and vote.
So there you have it. It's been a great week, folks. I'm going to get some more work done so go have yourselves a wonderful weekend.
Roboto Mori at Fantastic Blognanza!
My recent Threadless Tee design seems to have made an impression! Greg over at Fantastic Blognanza (a blog devoted to indie tees) is a fan of the design and lent a helping hand to my cause by posting a notice. Only after I saw this post did I find out that the design was on both Greg's and John's Top Ten Designs of 2007! Wow!If you haven't already, please click the "I'd buy it" button and give it a high score. If I'm fortunate enough to get it printed, I'll be sure to give a few away here to some of the many who have responded to the call. Here's the original plea for help. Here's the design on white:
Get Your Vote On! Threadless Submission!
In my quest for cash, I submitted a t-shirt design to Threadless.com in the hopes that it might get printed. Here’s your chance to help make that happen! Please give this design a high score! If I get enough high scores the shirt will be printed and sold from the site and I will win some prizes. Take a look at it and if you like it, sign up and give it a high score. With your help, I might be able to pay off some debts! Thanks in advance for your support, folks. If it gets printed, I’ll buy up a bunch and give ‘em away to visitors for nuthin’! That’s how desparate I am! Click the image or sidebar thingamajig to vote!

A kind and generous soul with a keen eye has snatched up the sketch for page 28. Thank you! If you were considering it and didn't get your donation in time, don't let that stop you! I'm more than happy to do an ink sketch just for you. As I've already said, times are tough so take advantage of me when I'm offering myself up cheap! The original version of page 23 is still available. This is a finished drawing complete with all the bells and whistles. I'll not be selling finished drawings like this anytime soon. When the pages from this project do become available, I promise they will not go this cheap. A donation of only $85 and you can make a home for this fine piece of art.
